Unboxing and Building TTCombat Dice Tower

Image
The TTCombat Dice Tower is a low cost piece of kit that is really good quality. I bought one to make dice rolling on the Let's Play videos going forward a bit easier to follow. I'd recommend you download the building instructions to your phone from www.ttcombat.com and use them, rather than doing what I did and build it from memory and getting the order wrong. Oops! But as it goes, the Dice Tower is a really easy build and doesn't require glue - it just holds itself together and is put together in minutes. By no means is this a "must-have" item for gaming, but it does away with any claims of dice rolling techniques and keeps your dice from hitting the floor - something that I'm good at doing with ANYTHING. God, I'm clumsy. Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/carsunsbazaar or search Carsun's Bazaar on Twitter, Insta, whatever!

The Noise Marine, NMM and a painstakingly slow journey!

Image
The Noise Marine. One of the greatest ideas Games Workshop has ever had. I got my hands on one and I knew right away that I had to do something special with this one, cue Non-Metallic Metals. NMM is a pain, but it looks so good. When you look at the old White Dwarf magazines from the 90s, you will see NMM all over the place. It looks amazing when it's done right, but it's very easy to mess up.  To get myself started for the NMM I went to my bits box and found this Chaos demon axe. I based it with Rhinox Hide mixed with a little black, then began glazing layers with a light blue added to the mix. Once I got it to a mid tone, I began adding white to the mix, eventually ending with a pure white. With the NMM, you have to look at the highlights different to standard layering. The easiest way to describe it is, where you have a highlight, on the face next to it, do it opposite. In the above example, the highlight on the edge of the blade is at the top of the outer blade, then ...

How To Paint Deadzone Plague Mutants

Image
Deadzone and Warpath are two of Mantic Games' excellent Sci-Fi games set in the Warpath universe. Possibly one of the most interesting factions in the universe are the Plague faction. As the plague moves from planet to planet, that planet is shut down and removed of planetary maps as Enforcers go in to eradicate the plague threat. While there, other factions fight to either take control of the planet, or just try to survive to onslaught. I love the look of the Plague faction. I like to imagine that as the plague is taking hold of its host, it is stripping the skin off of them, allowing the bone-like armour to protrude through. With this in mind, I painted the faction to look as it they were raw flesh, glistening with blood and sinew. This tutorial can be used either to paint your own Plague Mutants, or be used for specific sections, like if you want to paint a flesh effect for something like a Gibbering Mouther or Beholder in Dungeons and Dragons. If you are interested ...

How To Paint Charred / Burned Flesh

Image
This technique uses Citadel's Agrellan Earth texture paint to create an excellent charred look for your models and scenery. This technique would look great on the battlefield on tree stumps that have been torched, buildings that have been set ablaze and, as shown in the video, to make your zombie horde stand out a bit if you have duplicate zombies. The technique is very simple to achieve and the video takes you step by step to create it. The models I use in the video are from Mantic Games' The Walking Dead: All Out War. If you're interested in picking them up for yourself, drop up an email at info@carsunsbazaar.com and we can send you an invoice through Paypal.

How To Undercoat Models With Spray Paint

Image
Undercoating your minis is important for ensuring your paint stays on the model! Some people use a brush to undercoat, others use an airbrush, but one of the most popular ways to undercoat is using spraypaint. Citadel do a range of Spray cans in an assortment of colours, meaning that no matter what your main colour is on the model or army, you'll find one that will work perfectly. Here Chris shows how to use a Spray Can to undercoat your models. You may think, "Who needs shown how to use spray paint?" but there are a few things that people don't do when spraying and it ends up clogging the mini up, ruining the amazing detail on them. Here, Chris undercoats the minis from Mantic Games' The Walking Dead: Here's Negan The Board Game using Citadel's Mechanicus Standard Grey spray paint.
